Maithripala- Ranil government which was swept into power on the 8th of January2015 as a result of the massive anti- Rajapakshe wave of public opinion , has become the laughing stock of the world on the eve of the local government elections to be held on the 10th of February 2018 which it has postponed for over a period of more than 2 years under various pretexts.This government which called itself a Yahapalana government ( a government of good governance ) has become a mockery of good governance to such an extent, the executive president himself had to appeal to the the prime minister not to obstruct the anti-corruption campaign, he claims he is planning to lead, implying thereby that it was he ( Ranil) who is protecting the corrupt politicians,a fact which was well known to everyone except the all powerful executive president, who incidentally become aware of what is happening in the government through the press.Not only that.Referring to the Central Bank Bond scandal ,without naming names , he keeps repeating that the whole country knows who the thief is, thereby again implicating Ranil.He publicly claims that the economic policy of his government was
utter failure and threatens that he - the economic miracle man and all knowing man of destiny- will take over the economic and planning ministry after the local government elections.Notwithstanding all these innuendoes and threats Ranil,not only does not utter a word, but also orders his MPs not to say a word against this doughty warrior against corruption who pretends to be the one and only Messiah of Sri Lanka, who will not stop at anything until he send all the guilty politicians , not only to prison but also to " Aveechi Maha Narakadiya " ( the nethermost level of the the Hell). Notwithstanding the fact that the President is planing to do what Chandrika did in 2004, Ranil is day dreaming with his never ending statements regarding his VolksVagen type plans under the leadership of very same President Maithripala Sirisena. Their acolytes have no choice other than to utter patently contradictory nonsense making the so-called Yahapalana government a really Mad Hatters' Tea Party.The whole country is so bewildered that even the opponents of the government could only speculate that this is a drama, the directors of which are none other than Maithri - Ranil duo.The very fact that the President has so far not dismissed the P.M notwithstanding the above statements and many others and the fact that the P.M.has not made any statement whatsoever gave credence to that speculation.
A self directed drama or not, the above mentioned situation would irretrievably run its course to the detriment of the"Yahapalana" government and the drift towards the end of the so-called Lichchavee regime which Ranil was very fond of highlighting with the sole purpose of fooling the Sinhala Buddhist voters. The only factor in the way of President Maihtripala's plan to play the role of Messiah (in fact the role of a Bonaparte ) is the crushing defeat awaiting him at the polls.Whoever says whatever, the stark fact is that this is an election between the U.N.P. government and anti-UNP voters.Notwithstanding all the verbal diarrhoea directed against the UNP and his daily quota of moral platitudes presented to the country as a whole, the anti UNP voter have no doubt whatsoever that Maithripala and his present SLFP is in league with the UNP. In fact the whole country knows it.When Maithripala accepted the offer to be the common candidate to defeat Mahinda Rajapakshe in 2015, in the eyes of the SLFP voters, he was a betrayer. Of course they were totally correct.But in the eyes of the anti Rajapakshe forces , it was a Great betrayal in the good sense the word. Saving the people from the most corrupt,brutal and murderous uneducated family regime was on the order of day, and when the opportunity arose majority of the people did what almost all the pundits of both sides of the spectrum thought impossible.Maithripala was fortunate enough to be the tool of this great task,fortunate, because he is the only person in the whole world who was selected to oust not only a dictator but also an opponent who has not even uttered a single word, let alone fight,the dictator or the opponent concerned during his regime.He not only did not utter a single word; on the contrary he even glorified him calling him a Maharaja. Not only that.He wholeheartedly supported each and every measure taken by Rajapakshe. The only time he disagreed with him was when Rajapakshe decided to call the Presidential election ahead of 2 years ,which ironically was to elevate him to the Presidency.He wanted the dictator to continue for another 2 years.What a stupendous irony.The rest of the relevant history everybody knows.
However much Maithripala shouts from top of his voice the only SLFPers who rally round him now and call him the only great Leader are former bootlickers of Mahinda .Rajapakshe.Even at the last General Eletions their aim was to make him the Prime minister, notwithstanding the fact that Maitrhipala, as President of the country as well as the SLFP publicly vouched that he will not appoint him as the Prime Minister.The whole country knows that these people joined the government to enjoy the perks and privileges until they can form a SLFP government.They are such a bunch of opportunists, their sole purpose of existence in this world is to enjoy the " best of all possible worlds." Most of the leading speakers on the platforms of Maithripala are the well known opportunists who have been soundly defeated by the SLFP voters at the last general election and who became not only MPs but also ministers,deputy ministers and state ministers thanks to the decision of the so-called Yahapalana President to appoint the defeated candidates as MPs on the National List , thereby depriving the people of the right to throw out of Parliament MPs whom they consider as unfit to sit there. In fact it is the only right they have at a parliamentary election, in addition to the right of electing MPs who will fool them, oppress them and suppress them for a specified period .Maithripala will go into the history as the first Leader of a country who had the audacity to deprive even that minimal right of the people. He went so far as to let one of these henchman to be elected to the post of deputy speaker of the Parliament.Not content with that he allows this man to be the chairman of the Cricket Board knowing very well that he is an owner of a Bookie.Although he now castigates everyone accused of misusing public fund he had no one else to appoint as the governor of Eastern province but an infamous lackey of the former Rajapakshe regime who has been accused of such misdeeds even when Rajapakshe was still reigning. His brother who has been apointed as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Telecommunication by none other than he himself, recently banned the well known website - Lanka E news- because it accuses the President of certain malpractices.So much for his anti corruption rhetoric!
Although he vows to wage his anti corruption crusade in such a vociferous way he is totally dumb when it comes to prosecuting the persons who are charged with kidnapping, murdering and brutally assaulting innocent people, including journalists, notwithstanding the fact that the bringing these culprits to book was one of his promises as much as the promise to prosecute persons accused of corruption. With the elapse of time since his electoral victory these murderers and their willing accomplices have become "ranaviruvas" (war heroes).This is when even the Army Commander himself publicly admits that murderers are not war heroes. He unashamedly publicly vowed that as long as he in power he will not allow a single ranaviruwa to be imprisoned.What a petty mind! Fighting during a war and the committing atrocities during or after such a war are one and the same thing,according to this Commander- in -Chief! Not different from his former Commander-in Chief and now his enemy- in- chief, Mahinda Rajapashe! If he won the Presidential elections Rajapakshe would and could have justified sending Sirisena under a 6 foot pit using the same Logic.It is instructive to remind the people of this country that American army and the government tried to cover-up the ghastly murder of innocent people of My Lai village in Vietnam, under the cover of protecting the good name of US army and its glorious Ranaviruvas.The most infamous event in this regard happened on the eve of the 20th century in France . It is known as the Dreyfuss affair , which began , as a result of attempts of the army to cover up , not the disappearance of a jounalist like Prageeth Eknaligoda or killing of nearly a dozen of civilians inside a Navy camp, but to cover up a certain mistake of an army officer,in the name of protecting the good name of the French army.. As always happens all the so-called patriotic gangs rally round the army to protect the good name of the glorious French army and Ranaviruvas. Of course as always happens " the most honourable and the most venerable" clergy was at the forefront to whitewash the army just because the person who was victimized happened to be a a Jew ( a Demalaa). Nonetheless ultimately the truth came out as there was an army officer who had what is commonly called the "conscience " .The truth of the My Lai massacre also came out only because there was an army officer ( Ron Ridenhour ) with such a "conscience'' even in the US army in Vietnam.In the French case, even the real guilty army officer,on whose behalf the whole "patriotic " gangs rallied around, ultimately had a " conscience,"proving that by committing suicide! Notwithstanding hundreds, if not thousands of such cases ,SriLanka's Commander in Chief has in effect became the Cover - Up-in-Chief pretending that Ranaviruvas can do no wrong, in contrast to England where only the king (or the Queen) can do wrong. Absolving anyone from such misdeeds by categorizing him or her under any such sanctimonious names as ranaviruva, sangha rathnaya, purusha rathnaya, sthre erathnaya , or any other rathnaya is a crime in itself.The most despicable thing in this regard is the covering-up of Gotabhaya Rajapakshe's crimes against inmates of Welikada prison.In fact, during the present election campaign ,not a single word came out of his mouth regarding these atrocities.Now it is an open secret that he is in league with this very same very same Gotabhaya.
Maithripala's recent statements notwithstanding , the fact remains that he was the leader of the present UNP-SLFP government for the last 3 years and still is.It is impossible to believe how this President can even for a moment think that people can be fooled by distancing himself from UNP now, after not only supporting but also doing everything to maintain the canard that this government will usher a prosperous country and go on till 2020 ,and even beyond. In fact it is he who asked his SLFP to agree to continue the government with the UNP when their agreement expired in December 2017.Now he has created a situation in which his only salvation depends on the political impotency of Ranil Wickramasinghe, who is ever prepared to go down the road of self annihilation ,which was amply demonstrated to the whole world by his suicidal attitude to Arjun Mahendran even after anyone with an iota of common sense could clearly see the culpability of this criminal in the Central Bank Bond scandal and the repercussions it certainly bring, not only to the UNP as a whole but also to his own so-called Mr.Clean image.So Maithripala can stake everything on Ranil's loyal friendship.So the next episode of the Yahapalana Nadagama is due to begin after the polls or even before that.
Meanwhile Rajapakshe and his slavish gang of robbers and murderers under the dirty banner of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and under the symbol of POHOTTUWA are doing everything in their power to fool the people to win the local government election not in order to take the country on a new path but to reestablish their former regime of corruption, nepotism, murder , racism and all the vices under the sun.None of these PHOTTUWAS admit that the previous Rajapakshe regime committed a single misdemeanor According to them, the only mistake they committed was holding the Presidential election ahead of 2 years!Just read the following short dialoue in oder to be convinced of the similarity of minds of the incorrigible followers of brutal dictators ; "But hadn't there been mistakes"I asked Kira Alexieyevna.Did Stalin never commit a mistake?" " Mistakes? she said. Yes. He died too soon " ( Lenin' s Tomb - David Remnick - p.133 ) Their similarity is so astonishing wherever they live under the Sun. Isn't it? .So the culprits are not the Rajapakshe gangsters but the people. Therefore the people should correct their mistake by bringing back the Rajapakshe gang to power. Thereafter Rajapakshes will continue their gangster regime which was overthrown in 2015. What a "bright "prospect!.If the people, not the people as a whole, but the people who voted for Mahinda Rajapakshe were so keen enough to correct their so-called mistake they could have done it so easily at the General Election held in August 2015, i.e. merely 7 months after his defeat..But lo and behold! Even the the miraculous 58 LAKSHAYA ( 5.8 Million) which was bandied about subsequently during the " Mahinda Sulanga" , campaign did not care to correct the so-called mistake. Even Maithripala was there leading these gangsters ! If the whole lot voted for the UPFA it could have obtained a majority in parliament.But UPFA voters numbering not hundreds, not thousands,not ten thousands, not even hundred thousands but more than a million refrained from voting to make him the PrimeMinister. Mahinda is indispensable not to the people but to the leaders of the "Joint Opposition" because they are totally incapable of getting rid of their feudal and slavish mentality and as a result of their utter political bankruptcy to select and elect a leader not connected to the Rajapakshe clan; so either Mahinda or Gotabhaya or Chamal or Basil or Namal or even Shiranthi (Identity No.2222222222) whom some of them publicly called the Lanka Mathawa (Mother Lanka ) .Before 2005 it was Bandaranayaka Family.
Of course the vast majority of the millions of people who voted for UPFA will vote for POHOTTUWA this time.That is not because they consider Mahinda indispensable but because they are anti UNP. However much Maithripala shouts from various kinds of platforms, these anti UNP voters are not fools to accept his anti UNP rhetoric and even actions as good coin.If they accept them as such it will only prove they are also not different from SB Dissanayakas,, Dilan Pereras, mahinda Samarasinghas.Mahinda Amaraweeras,Appachi Malas etc.,etc, and the latest bunch of turncoats like Weera kumara Dissanayakas,Jayantha Wijesekaras and diehard racists .Those anti UNP voters are compelled to vote for PHOTTUWA , not because they consider Mahinda as indispensable but because they consider it as the only way to defeat the UNP, just as in 2015anti-Rajapakshe voters had no alternative to get rid of that murderous and corrupt Rajapakshe except by voting for Maithripala.It is simple as that. But both of them think people voted for their greatness and they are indipensable! They are , of course ,entitled to their dreams until the results of the election will wake them up.Despite their serious allegations against each other both of them tried to come to terms before the Nomination day. According to Mahinda Samarasinghe, Maithripala was even prepared to give back the leadership of the SLFP to Mahinda Rajapkshe whom he once called "the Yakshaya" when he wanted to frighten the Tamil people. Even now when the D day is only 2 weeks away,he said at the top of his voice that he is prepared to form a SLFP government if all the MPs elected on the SLFP are prepared to stand along with him. That includes Mahinda Rajapkshe, whom he on the previous day ,without naming names , implicated in a conspiracy to thwart the recommendations of the 2 Presidential Reports by hatching a conspiracy with the PRABHUS ( high class elements) of the UNP.. He even knew the place where the alleged conspiracy took place (Boralla ).One of these Commission Reports, as it is reported in the media, has recommended that this Mahinda Rajapakshe should be deprived of civil rights, not for normal 7 years but for the rest of his life! So much for Maithripala's crusade against corruption! He did not forget to remind the phrase which is on the tips of the tongues of all the opportunist politicians of Sri Lanka that there are no permanent friends or foes in politics.It is not for nothing that Comrade Rosa Luxemburg once said that the very statements made by opportunists are themselves a testimony to their bankruptcy.As the day of reckoning fast approaching the extent to which he might entangle himself in a web of contradictions and desperate steps is beyond one's imagination.Donning a full- blue ARYA SINHALA suit instead of a Mody-type suit won't change anything.As far as Anti Rajapakshe voters are concerned he is already a spent force.Both camps consider him as a betrayer and both camps are right in its own way.In point of fact he has the distinction of being the only political leader of the whole world who deceived and betrayed publicly , both the main contending political camps of a country so decisively . Commenting on Sir Lord John Russell, a former British PM and the grand father of Bertrand Russell , Karl Marx referred to the "correctness of the Biblical words that no man can add one cubit into his stature." Maithripala Sirisena proved that again in the 21st century.
The "Fourth force" which claimed earlier to be the Third Force", is Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna ((JVP) , which claims to be a Marxist party- in fact the only Marxist party- is in such a pathetic situation that it appeals to the people to hand over the PUNCHI ANDUWA (little government ) to them and vows to demonstrate to the world how to eradicate corruption while the central government is in the hands of infamous corrupt capitalist politicians! Much more miraculous than the miracles to be performed by the latest miracle man - HIS Excellency Maithripala Sirisena! It is no accident that the leader of the JVP never ever refers to Marxism at all.JVPs Marxism and their whole election campaign boils down to anti- corruption rhetoric. They want to be accepted as good boys whose behaviour is above board. There are no bad guys in the JVP! ANEDA KIYANNE! They utter these patently absurd statements concealing the fact that one of the worst , if not the worst, corrupt racist politician -Wimal Weeravansa- was nurtured in the JVP and by the JVP all along . He was not only a member but also the Propaganda Secretary. That fact ,which is undeniable,suffices to expose their claim.Some people say in their desperation that this time voters should vote for JVP in order to teach the other rascals a lesson.How many times the people voted one party or the other in order to teach the opposite party a lesson?Nothing came out of this.The people got elected taught the masses not only one lesson but many lessons.It was none other than the great German philosopher who wrote the following immortal words: "... what experience and history teach is this-- that peoples and governments never have learned anything from history,or acted on principles dedused from it. (Philosophy of History - Hegel-p.6) The only thing that we have to tell such teachers is that the JVP will certainly teach them an unforgettable lesson, as they have taught their voters a bitter lesson in selecting their defeated candidates instead of the names appeared in the National List .Of course at the time they were following the footsteps of Maithripala Sirisena in this regard.It should not be forgotten that the unofficial chief spokesman of the unconstitutional Jathika Sabhava was none other than the leader of the JVP- Anura Kumara Disanayake.Not only that. It was due to the support of the JVP that the UNP-SLFP government was able to foist upon the people the present local government electoral system, which under the guise of giving the power to the people to elect their own choice to their constituency, but in fact only the choice to endorse the candidates, the leaders of the respective parties foist upon them, whether they like the relevant candidate or not. However much a person a is popular among the people, he or she cannot contest without joining one of these parties which have brought this country to the brink of disaster or by renting out a recognized political party or by presenting a list of independent candidates which is nearly impossible , not only because of the enormous amount of money that should be deposited, but also because such a candidate if he is or she has his or her own principles will have to collect an assorted set of candidate just to confirm to the election rules! It goes without saying that only unprincipled persons or moneyed person can fulfill such conditions.In addition to all that , the JVP leaders who always shouts at the top of their voices supported to increase the number of members of the PUNCHI AANDUWA not by 10%, not by 25%, not by even 50% but by 100% ! Unbelievable, isn't it. The people who want to vote for JVP to teach others a lesson will be fortunate enough to see from their own eyes how these JVP leaders will enjoy along with others the perks and privileges ,of course always with devastating criticism! These facts alone amply proves that the JVP was concerned only with the increasing their strength in these bodies rather than mobilizing the masses against these capitalist political bandits.
Taking into consideration all these facts, the only course of action which will open a way forward to the downtrodden masses of this country is to express their total disapproval of these parties ,not by refusing to go to the polling stations , but by spoiling their votes en mass at the polling stations. Thus whoever wins (of course one Party will win ) ,that win will be a hollow one. The winner can and will boast about its victory using all the adjectives at their disposal such as "glorious" ,"unprecedented" and others.Let them boast to their hearts' content. But the situation created by such a hollow victory will give the the masses an opportunity and time to reorient themselves and find out ways and means to fight against the capitalist parties in disarray. Of course this can be done only if forces claiming to be leftists and democratic are prepared to totally break with the capitalist parties and self-proclaimed saviours and reorganized on a principled anti-capitalist program of action.Both opportunism and sectarianism should be abandoned.Through this website and other means we henceforth do whatever is possible to further this end.

( an extract from Ron Ridenhour' letter to the US army)
Exactly what did,in fact, occur in the village of"Pink Villa( My Lai) in March,1968 I do not know for certain , but I am convinced that it was something very black indeed.I remain irrevocably persuaded that if you and I do truly believe in the principles, of justice and the equality of every man, however humble, before the law, that form the very backbone that this country is founded on, then we must press forward a widespread and public investigation of this matter with all our combined efforts. I think that it was Winston Churchill who once said " A country without a conscience is a country without a soul, and a country without a soul is a country that cannot survive," I feel that we must take some positive action on this matter.I hope that you will launch an investigation immediately and keep me informed of your progress.If you cannot,then I don't know what other course of action to take.
I have considered sending this to newspapers,magazines and broadcasting companies, but I somehow feel that investigation and action by the Congress of the United States is the appropriate procedure, and as a conscientious citizen I have no desire to further besmirch the image of the American servicemen in the eyes of the world.'

But this letter is long Sir, and it is time to conclude it.
I accuse Lt. Col. du party de clan of being the diabolical creator of this miscarriage of justice- unwittingly I would like to believe - and of defending this sorry deed, over the last three years, by all manner of ludicrous and evil machinations.
I accuse General Mercier of complicity, at least by mental weakness,in one of the greatest inequities of the century.
I accuse General Billot of having held in his hands absolute proof of Dreyfuss's innocence and covering it up, making himself guilty of this crime against mankind and justice, as a political expedient and a way for the compromised General Staff to save face.
I accuse General Boisdeffre and General Gouse of complicity in the same crime, the former , no doubt , out of religious prejudice, the latter perhaps out of the espirit the corps that has transformed the War Office into an unassailable holy ark.
I accuse General de Pellieux and Major Ravery of conducting a villainous enquiry , by which I means monstrously bias one, as attested by the latter in a report that is an imperishable monument to naive impudence.
I acuse the three handwriting experts, Messers. Belhomme Varinar and Conard, of submitting reports that were deceitful and fraudulent, unless a medical examination finds them to be suffering from a condition that impair their eyesight and judgement.
I accuse the War Office of using the press, particularly L'eclair and L'Echo de Paris, to conduct an abominable campaign to mislead the general public and cover-up their wrong doing..
Finally, I accuse the first court martial of violating the law by convicting the accused on the basis of a document that was kept secret, and I accuse the second court martial of covering up this illegality, on orders, thus committing the judicial crime of knowingly acquitting a guilty man.
In making these accusations I am aware that I am making myself liable to articles 30 and 31of the law of 29/7/1881 regarding the press, which make libel a punishable offence. I expose myself to that risk voluntarily
As for the people I am accusing, I do not know them , I have never seen them, and I bear them neither ill will nor hatred.To me they are are mere entities, agents of harm to society. The action I am taking is no more than a radical measure to hasten the explosion of truth and justice.
I have but one passion: to enlighten those who have been kept in the dark, in the name of humanity which has suffered so much and is entitled to happiness. My fiery protest is simply the cry of my very soul.Let them dare, then ,bring me before a court of law and let the inquiry take place in broad daylight! I am waiting

Maithripala Sirisena has gone berserk to such an extent he has almost forgotten that he is the President of Sri Lanka. He utters such contradictory nonsense, the people are at a loss to understand which of which is true.
* One day he says that he is prepared to form a SLFP government if the 96 MPs elected on the SLFP ticket are ready to stand beside him and come to his house. Next day he says that he made that statement only because he knew that it will never happen! Next day he again says that he is a born SLFPer and his colour is always BLUE.( That " ALWAYS" doesn't include the 2015 Presidential elections when he was instrumental in defeating the very same SLFP ,a monumental fact, it seems he is totally unaware of! )
* Instead of putting forward all the relevant facts regarding the Central Band scandal to the public through all the means available to him(He has all the means,especially the media which he once said is ever ready to burn the country),he all of a sudden challenges anyone to come to a debate with him.Here he followed the footsteps of that infamous joker Udaya Gammanpila whose stock-in -trade is holding jocular press conferences every other day to challenge anyone and everyone to come to a debate with him, assuming himself as the unbeatable 'VAADEEBHASINHGNO ( great debater) of Sri Lanka. When the Party leaders decided to hold the Parliamentary debate on 8th of February,he attacks it and demand that it should be held before that and attacks the party leaders for not holding it before that date, despite the fact that the people who took the decision included two of his sycophants who were not directed by the President to insist that the date should be advanced. When it was advanced to 6th,he attacks that decision too.What is in his mind one can only guess.May be he wants to confine all his opponents to Parliament on the eve of the election and to disrupt their election campaign in a subtle "democratic" way. IF NOT HE TOO SHOULD COME TO THE PARLIAMENT AND PRESENT ALL THE EVIDENCE TO PROVE HIS CASE AND REMOVE ALL THE CULPRITS FROM THE CABINET IMMEDIATELY..

Until the Central Bank Bond scandal it was the practice of the Sri Lankan politicians to emphasize the the amounts of money involving alleged gains, losses and corruption in millions and billions. Since then they speak in terms of trillions, not knowing what a trllion is.
So, Bandula Gunawardena, another joker of the so-called Joint Opposition, a tution master who assumes himself to be an economist,if not the greatest economist, speak of Central Bank losses as Rs. 2000 biilion while the State Minister of Finance claims it as a trillion! Then no other than the Executive President himself decided to play his own game with that awesome number trillion.So according to him the amount Rajapakshe obtained as loans during his corrupt regime is 10 ( ten) trillion and only 1(one) trillion is accounted for.If that is true Rajapakshe should not only de deprived of civil rights as recommended by one of the Presidential commission Reports ,but should be sent to prison for the rest of his life ! The president revealed this not from a election platform where wild allegation are hurled on grand scale but at a press conference to which all the heads of main media institutions were invited.When did he learn of this 10 trillion and 1 trillion ? Only the day before the conferenc..?If he knew it from the very outset why didn't he kept it from the people for 3 years? Why did he try to form an electoral agreement with him until the nomination day? Even now Rajapakshe who is alleged to have committed such a heinous crime appears on the banners of the SLFP_UPFA along with Maitripala and remains as an adviser of the SLFP despite his openly anti-party activities! Of course this a huge amount only shows the extent to which Rajapakshe regime has gone to make Sri Lanka a debt-ridden country, but it does not corroborate the statement made by President Sirisena..It is the general practice of Sri Lankan politicians to make false allegations wholesle when there are real allegations ,thereby only allowing the culprits to go unpunished.In this case the President made an allegation that can be proved wrong statistically, just for the sake of gathering some more votes from the PHOTTUWA.IT can be easily proved that even the total amount of loans taken since the gaining of Independence do not exceed 10 trillion. What can be proved irrefutably is the criminal irresponsibility of Rajapashe regime in taking such a vast amout of loans surpassing the total amount of loans obtained during the preceding 57 years taken as a whole , and ,of course, misusing them in such a gigantic scale.

At every few moments the fury of the crowd boiled over and the voice of the speaker was drowned by a wild beastlike roaring that rose uncontrollably from thousands of throats. The most savage yells of all came from the school children. The speech had been proceeding for perhaps twenty minutes when a messenger hurried on to the platform and a scrap of paper was slipped into the speaker's hand.He unrolled and read it without pausing in his speech. Nothing altered in his voice or manner, or in the content of what he was saying, but suddenly the names were different. Without words said, a wave of understanding rippled through the crowd. LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION RESULT and AFTERMATH
President Maithripala Sirisena who was trounced at the local government elections as we have unequivocally predicted, is doing his best to continue his political duplicity by legitimizing the totally false claim of Mahinda Rajapakshe and the Sri lanka Podujana Peramuna , which he stigmatized as the KUNUKANUWA (gutter) of G.L.Pieris, that the people has given a mandate to Rajapakshe to be the prime minister. He is doing this by creating a governmental crisis and trying to dictate terms to the UNP , which helped him become the President and supported him all along.The joke of it is that he who have suffered the most humiliating defeat with only 1.4million votes, , reminding us of Ramsay McDonald who betrayed the Labour Party and got into the dustbin of history, think that he has the right to dictate terms to the "runner-up"with 3.6 million votes.Therefore the first thing one has to do is to see whether the people has given Mahind Rajapakshe the so-called mandate surpassing the mandate given to Maithripala and the UNP in January 2015 and August 2015 respectively.
Of course Mahinda's SLPP was the wiinner. No one can dispute it Nevertheless it is by no means a
glorious or unprecedented or any such victory as claimed by the SLPP. Or is it a TSUNAMI type vote as claimed by that notorious racist demagogue - Wimal Weerawanse . Oh no.Only a congenital idiot like him who does not know anything about electoral history of Sri Lanka can utter such rubbish.If this victory which gave the winner only 44.65% votes as against nearly 55% for anti Rajapakshe votes ,how can describe MEP ( not the present racist rump MEP of Dinesh Gunawardena ) victory of 1956 and SLFP- LSSP-CP coalition victory in1970?What about UNP victory in 1977 which gave it not only 5/6 seat in parliament but also 51% of the total vote?What about the votes obtained by Mahinda Rajapakshe himself and UPFA before 2015 ? Considering those victories, this miserable 46% is not what SLPP tries their level best to portray as an unprecedented victory
It did not give it the right to rule the country. In fact the areas they won are the areas they won at the last general election also.That's why they obtained 95 seats as against the 106 seats of the UNP in 2015..As a matter of fact this time they manage to obtain more than 50% of the total votes only in few seats, despite the fact that the UNP lost more than a million (1486655 to be precise ) votes. Let us examine this fact more closely.
In Colombo District the UNP obtained only 410522 votes .At the2015 general election it obtained
640743 votes. It means it lost 230221 votes this time.
SLPP obtained476873 votes at the last general elections. UPFA obtained474083 votes.Thus
the people have turned to Mahinda Rajapakshe in such a "forceful' way his SLPP could increase his votes by only 2790 votes! What a grand victory!Have you ever heard of such an "unprecedented''victory? This miserable victory was achieved when the UNP lost 230221votes.This district is the district of all the racist stalwarts of the SLPP, apart from their slaveowner - Rajapakshe family -ranging from Wimal Weerawansa,Udaya gammanpila,Dinesh Gunawardena,G.L.Pieris,and Bandula Gunwardena,the self -proclaimed economist.How vociferously has he shouted exposing the Central Bank Bond scandal. Notwithstanding the fact that this scandal was discussed mostly in this district nobody cared to vote for Bandula's "great leader, 'indicating that none was converted by his PACHANOMICS.All those who were enraged by Ranil's attempt to cover up Arjun Mahendran's criminal deeds chose to vote for other parties within the anti Rajapakshe framework.
In Gampaha, District,which is one of the most anti UNP districts, the SLPP could increase their votes by105596 when the UNP lost the UNP lost 181,644 votes.
In Kalutara District while the UNP lost 81116 votes , the SLPP increased its vote only only by 11581 votes compared to what the UPFA obtained in 2015. It is the same story in every district they won. Although it is not necessary to give all the statistics the real picture would be incomplete without the statistics pertaining to southern province , not only because its anti UNP record (except in 1977) but also its special relation to Rajapakshes.
In Galle district while the UNP lost 95966 votes compared to 2015 the SLPP could increase its votes only by 8584 compared to UPFA votes in 2015.
In Matara district while the UNP lost 51003. THE SLPP could increase its vote by 25262 only.
Then we come to the Rajapakshe kingdom. While the UNP lost 28731 votes under the leadership of Sajith Premadasa, the UNP raja, SLPP Maharaja could imcrease his votes by only 5962 votes! If the people have such a thirst for Maharaja Mahinda's return to power it was Hambantota district which should have shown the way by capturing, not only UNP votes but also UPFA's votes wholsale. But sorry to say, it did not happen that way.
To take the country as a whole the situation is not different.The total amount of votes obtained by the SLPP is 4941952. The total number of votes obtained by the UPFA in 2015 is 4732664, Thus the increase of votes by Rajapakshe camp is only209288 whereas the total amount of votes lost by the UNP is 1486695 votes.It only expose the palpable falsehood of the claim of Mahinda and his ambattayas that this victory is an unprecedented and historic mandate given to Mahinda.
They have deliberately refrain from mentioning the much-vaunted PANAS ATA LAKSHYA (5.8 million votes) bandied about during their MAHINDA SULANGA campaign, for the simple reason that their present 47 LAKSHAYA is far behind that number.
To gloss over these facts the SLPP leaders and its chief spy within the Maithripla camp- Susil Premjayanth - add the number of votes obtained by the SLFP and UPFA to their number of votes.However much they try to twist the facts one thing is beyond any doubt.They all were for a real Yahapalna government in contrast to Rajapakshe-type gagster regime. If they were for such a government they certainly should have voted for the SLPP. They did not want go back to such a government and theerfore they voted against the SLPP.
The SLPP boast that this is first time that a newly founded party could win such a victory.Messers robbers and murderers of the SLPP, although the name of the party is new, your leading members were already known to the people , 46 among them were sitting members of Parliament and most importantly one among them was none other than the Modern Dutugamunu. So it is not so new as you pretend, isn't it?
The other important fact concerning this so-called historic victory is the total rejection of racist Rajapakshe gang by the ethnic minorities. If Mahinda returns to power Sri Lanka will be a divided nation again by that fact alone.
In this context the most intriguing thing is not what Rajapakshe gang demands -delivering power to him- which they have been demanding since 2015 by clinging onto any and every straw that come on their way. What is most intriguing is the behaviour of the leaders of the so-called Yahapalana government which considers the result of a local government nullifies the results of a general election. Such is the political acumen of the person who holds the post of Presidency of Sri Lanka- the so-called 'Shaktiye Minisa Yuktiye minisa ( man of strength man of Justice ).While it certainly is true that any election reflects the prevailing public opinion, it certainly does not mean the earlier mandate given to a different elected body expires with it. Those Pundithayas who argue in this way posing themselves as constitutional and political experts are totally unaware that very recently in Germany President Angela Merkel's Party obtained only one third of votes at the local government polls but remained in power without any hullabaloo and later held the general elections on due date and was elected again but without an overall majority , thus reflecting the correctness of the earlier result. Sri Lanka under president Sirisena is the only country in the world in which a local government elections make such an uproar at the government level.Business Maharaja who has taken him for a ride since he came to power will continue it until Ranil is deposed. Although it is not our business to advise President Sirisena who is surrounded by that Maharaja's paid servants , it is not out of place to enlighten the common man reminding the fact that even a capitalist and imperialist giant as Sir Winston Churchill, notwithstanding his well-known erudition, had been taken for a ride by a notorious press baron Lord Beaverbrook during the 1945 general election.Churchill allowed himself to taken for a ride not heeding to the misgivings of his wife.
Whichever way the President Sirisena resolves the present crisis which is his own creation ,he won't be able to hide the fact that he and his non-elected gang were soundly beaten and that the dustbin of history is waiting to welcome all of them. Even if they return to Mahinda Rajapakshe's fold and manage to get nomination at any type of election, people who voted for the SLPP would teach them an unforgettable lesson. Mahinda Rajapakshe himself would play his own part to send them to their just deserts as he has done at the last general election..While Maithripala Sirisena may prevail not because of any kind of statesmanship or political acumen but only because he can wield the executive powers until 2020.In the meantime he will take the country further to the brink of disaster amidst all the fanfare organised by the rump SLFP -UPFA and orchestrated bySirasa Madya Jalaya, Jalaya it really is.His real aim is to find out a way to get the nomination at the next Presidential election as the common candidae by any means,. mainly by destroying Ranil. If he fails that will be the pathetic end of the political career of Maithripala Sirisena which he deserves so much, and over which no one should have any tears to shed.The only person who would and could have saved him was Ranil. Although Ranil ,in his political impotency, would help him to achieve his aim notwithstanding all the treacherous things he had done, the UNP then would rise up against Ranil and that would be the end of Ranil himself along with Sirisena.If Sirisena thinks that he can win over the millions of UNP voters by wielding his much-publicised KADUWA (sword) against Ranil he is living in a fools' paradise.
. Ranil Wickramasinghe on his part will continue his wheeling and dealing policy, manipulating everything and everyone despite the disastrous consequence of that policy. Being a past master of that policy he may survive this crisis too. But the crisis that will develop within the UNP has reached to such an extent it won't be plain sailing. The disastrous consequences he had brought upon the UNP by his criminal policy of covering up that criminal Arjun Mahendran won't be excused by the UNPer anymore.Even if he survives the present crisis his lackadaisical attitude towards the governing the country with his coterie of friends will not change and that will only bring disaster not only to the country but also to the UNP itself
In this context it is obvious that Sri Lanka has no future with these parties although the politicians who are leading these parties certainly have a bright and prosperous future even when they are defeated.Maithripala who appointed defeated candidates as MPs and ministers is now trying to form a government not only of defeated candidates but also with a President whose party has even lost its deposit ."SHAKTIYE MINISAA_AA_ YUKTHIYE MINISAA _AA'
Although people voted for those parties it is certain that millions and millions did it with grave misgivings, not believing what the leaders have promised .In fact the picture presented by these leaders in their slanging-matches is that this is a nation of great robbers.Therefore a gigantic vacuum is created to be filled by a new leadership with a clear cut anti-capitalist program . It is the task of Marxists to work out such programme and find ways and means to go among the people making that leadership acceptable to the people To do it in the present context it is necessary to break with the above mentioned parties and alliances decisively .
