                 It  Happened  Exactly 30  Years Ago

 Let's Commemorate  the Fallen Colleagues and Comrades

                     of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

   Exactly 30 years ago  this day, 31st January 1996,   40 Central Bank employees along with 40 bystanders  were killed instantaneously by the LTTE bomb attack,   leaving behind yet another gruesome  terrorist barbarity to their "credit" ,  which,   only besmirched  the struggle of the  Tamil people  of Sri Lanka.. Except for a few, all the other Central Bank employees were members of the Central Bank Employees  Union,  which openly supported  the struggle of the Tamil people for their just rights. The so-called Diaspora instead of toddling with  the JVP leaders  who  at that time fought tooth and nail against giving even the tiniest concession to the  Tamil people and slaughtered  any Sinhalese who dared to support any  such concession, must at least openly condemn the LTTE bomb attack on the Central Bank  and apologize to   all the victims of that heinous crime.

   I reproduce here the full page  obituary published by the Central Banka Employees Union in 1997 in commemoration  of the  40  colleagues  and comrades who lost their lives .
